The JEE Mains exam is conducted twice a year, and the marks on which the candidate scored highest are considered. Whereas the JEE Advanced is conducted once a year.

The JEE Mains is conducted by the NTA or the National Testing Agency while the JEE Advanced exam is conducted by any one of the seven participating IITs namely IIT Roorkee, Kharagpur, Delhi, Kanpur, Bombay, Hyderabad, and Guwahati, in a rotational manner.
